OUR Mission

Workout

Autonomy Psychology was created to provide athletes and exercisers with a service that can help them attain control over their mental performance. In the pursuit of improved performance, lifestyle change, and well-being, the process first starts with the mind. Therefore, we give you the mental tools to not only embark on this journey but to also reach the summit of your mountain faster, and arrive the best version of yourself.

Choose not to be controlled by your mind's default settings, and instead gain autonomy over the direction your performance takes!

We want to be a part of your journey. Whether that is becoming the next world champion, competing for the first time, breaking personal bests in the gym, getting out of a slump, or taking the first steps on your fitness journey. We want to realise those dreams with you, and act as a catalyst in your pursuit of self-improvement!

Robin hughes

Mental Performance Coach - and Founder

Growing up as an elite athlete with an invisible illness, I experienced a love-hate relationship with my body. This resulted in me devoting time to improve my mental performance when my physical was impeded. Now I look back and see the psychological frameworks I was naively putting in place, to take my performance to a national level. Today, the mindset I cultivated shapes the way I approach life, and has led me to pursue a career where I can provide other people with the tools to take control of their mentality!

Interests:

Sport/exercise has been my life for as long as I can remember, so when you pair this with my fascination with the human mind, my career path begins to make sense! As someone with EDS and PoTs, I love to help people that are finding their feet with their diagnosis. I enjoy reading a good book (Can't Hurt Me - David Goggins is my favourite). In my downtime I like to explore, hike, take photographs, or learn a new skill - recently I learned how to solve a Rubik's cube in under a minute!!
